The Dalton Report

Hey, everyone!! I know you want your weekly dose of Dalton News...here goes!

What did I do this past weekend, you ask??

...and that's about all! It was heavenly. But, back to the News- now that you're all jealous :)

Reese did not win the Championship Game Friday night, but they were 2nd place in the league, so give it up for the Thunderbolts and Player #2- REESE STANLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry went to the Headache Specialist last week, and was given some hope and relief. He was put on a daily anti-migraine medicine, and was given instructions to completely discontinue caffeine use. He has to return next week to receive injections in his neck to ease the tension there that is at the root of the tension headaches, and hopefully the migraines will stay away once he raises his threshold for them with the medicine and cardio three times a week. So, that's good news, because at least we can be pro-active and treat both types of headaches he suffers from.

Now, for the results of last week's poll! I assume that most of our blogstalkers are female, so let me say...ladies, you need some confidence! Lack of confidence won the poll by a longshot. As a matter of fact, I noticed that two people had voted for a different answer, then switched to lack of confidence!!! They weren't even confident about their answer!!! Anyway, I was really surprised at first, and then I asked myself which I would have chosen, and it was the same for me. I have confidence at work, when I'm acting or singing, in my faith, and in who I am and who loves me. BUT...I sometimes lack confidence in my parenting decisions. I constantly question myself. So, I guess we all need a little confidence. Trust me, you guys all ROCK, so let's feel good about who we are!!!!

I would like to introduce a new feature on The Dalton Report. each week, I will recognize a "Person of the Week" for their contributions to my life...just to show appreciation and let others know of their awesomeness...

This week's honoree is...

MY MOM

I know, it's Mother's Day week, so it was sort of a given, but she would have been the first one anyway!

My Mom has always been supportive of me, even when she thought (or knew) I was making a mistake. She is encouraging, caring, and gives really good, well-thought out advice.

One thing I don't think she knows about herself is how fun she is to be around! She tells animated stories about her day, loves to laugh, and finds joy in learning about anything new.

Good things she gave me:

a love of reading

a love of finding interesting little places on trips

a love of God

an understanding of how important little things are to your kids

We are lucky to have you, Mom!!

We had a great time at the championship game! It was very exciting and Reese did great, of course. Thanks for letting me be the person of the week. I am honored to be your mother and to be the grandmother to such sweet grandchildren. I am humbled by your compliments and grateful for your love. I love you always and forever.

It was nice to see you this weekend, although I am not even sure we talked because it was so much going on. We need to see each other more often....
Poor Barry! Headaches are awful so I am sure he is in agony!! I'll put him on the prayer list at church.

way to go Reese! But I am not surprised, quite the little athlete. And your choice of person of the week was right on, what a wonderful tribute to your mom.
